If you make a booking on behalf of other participants, you are responsible for ensuring that they are informed of these Terms & Conditions and of any information relevant to their participation.

Tonic Mama offers hands-on Italian cooking classes in Vienna.
Unless otherwise stated, a standard class:
lasts approximately 3 hours;
costs €130 per person;
includes all ingredients, food prepared during the class, beverages and a recipe booklet.
The menu may vary depending on ingredient availability, seasonality and dietary requirements agreed in advance.
The duration indicated is approximate. Small variations in the starting or finishing time may occur depending on the group and the preparation of the recipes.
2. Booking and Confirmation
Submitting a booking form does not automatically confirm your booking.
Your booking is confirmed only after:
Tonic Mama has confirmed availability;
any relevant dietary requirements or allergies have been reviewed; and
payment has been received.
Availability is not guaranteed until you receive a booking confirmation from Tonic Mama.
The exact address of the cooking class will be provided after your booking has been confirmed.
Tonic Mama reserves the right to decline a booking where participation cannot reasonably or safely be accommodated.
3. Dates and Availability
Classes are generally available Monday to Sunday, unless otherwise stated on the website.
Booking requests must be submitted at least two calendar days before the class, subject to availability.
For example, for a Saturday class, bookings must be submitted by Thursday.
Submitting a booking request within the permitted booking period does not guarantee availability.
4. Payment
The applicable price will be communicated before payment.
Unless otherwise agreed, full payment is required to confirm the booking.
Any fees charged by your bank or payment provider are your responsibility.
A booking is not considered confirmed until payment has been received and confirmation has been issued by Tonic Mama.

No-Shows
If you do not attend the booked class, the booking will be treated as a no-show.
No-shows are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
Late Arrival
Guests are responsible for arriving at the agreed starting time.
If you arrive late, Tonic Mama will make reasonable efforts to allow you to join the class. However, if your late arrival would materially disrupt the class or create a safety issue, Tonic Mama may refuse or delay your participation.
Late arrival does not entitle the guest to a refund, extension of the class or rescheduling.
Cancellation by Tonic Mama
Tonic Mama may cancel or reschedule a class due to illness, emergency, insufficient participants or circumstances outside reasonable control.
If Tonic Mama cancels the class, you may choose between:
- a full refund of the amount paid for the class; or
- transfer of your booking to another available date.
Tonic Mama is not responsible for additional expenses such as travel, accommodation or other third-party costs, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Cooking classes booked for a specific date and time may fall within the statutory exception to the 14-day withdrawal right applicable to certain leisure services provided on a specific date or during a specific period. Any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
6. Allergies, Dietary Requirements & Health
Our cooking classes use common allergens, including gluten-containing cereals, eggs, milk and dairy products, nuts and other allergens depending on the recipes being prepared.
The class takes place in a shared kitchen where different foods and allergens are handled.
Tonic Mama cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Guests must inform Tonic Mama before the class of any known food allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements affecting themselves or another member of their booking.
Guests with a severe or potentially life-threatening food allergy must contact Tonic Mama before booking.
Tonic Mama may decline a booking if an allergy, intolerance or dietary requirement cannot reasonably and safely be accommodated.
Several of our core recipes contain eggs and dairy products. The standard class is therefore not suitable for vegans or guests with certain severe allergies or intolerances to these ingredients.
Vegetarian options can normally be arranged when requested in advance.
Guests are responsible for providing complete, accurate and up-to-date information regarding known allergies, intolerances, dietary requirements and other circumstances relevant to their safe participation.
Tonic Mama will take reasonable care when preparing and conducting the class but cannot guarantee the complete absence of traces or accidental cross-contact with allergens.
If you have a medical condition, disability, mobility limitation or other circumstance that may affect your ability to participate safely, you must inform Tonic Mama before the class so that suitable arrangements can be discussed.
7. Kitchen Safety, Conduct & Liability
Cooking classes are hands-on activities involving normal kitchen risks, including the use of knives, ovens, stovetops, hot surfaces, boiling water, kitchen appliances, glassware and other cooking equipment.
These activities may involve risks including cuts, burns, slips, falls and other injuries.
Guests are required to:
- follow all safety instructions provided by Tonic Mama;
- use knives, appliances and other equipment responsibly;
- ask for assistance whenever they are unsure how to use something safely;
- immediately report any unsafe condition, accident or injury;
- avoid participating in any activity they believe they cannot perform safely;
- behave in a manner that does not create a risk to themselves or others.
Guests must not participate in cooking activities while impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication or any other condition that makes participation unsafe.
Tonic Mama reserves the right to refuse participation, stop a guest from taking part in a particular activity, or require a guest to leave the class if their behaviour is unsafe, seriously disruptive, abusive or creates a risk to themselves, other guests or property.
Where participation is refused or terminated because of the guest's own behaviour or failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, no refund or rescheduling will be provided, except where required by applicable law.
Tonic Mama takes reasonable care to provide a safe environment, suitable equipment and appropriate instructions. However, participation in hands-on cooking activities involves certain inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated.
Guests may be responsible for damage caused intentionally, negligently or through improper use of equipment, subject to applicable law.
Tonic Mama is responsible in accordance with applicable Austrian law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited under Austrian law.
8. Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings at all times.
Tonic Mama does not provide secure storage for personal belongings.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tonic Mama is not responsible for the loss, theft, disappearance or damage of personal items brought to the class or left on the premises.
Guests are encouraged to keep valuables with them and to avoid bringing unnecessary valuable items to the class.
9. Accessibility
The building has a lift, and the area where the class takes place is on one level. There is one small step at the entrance.
Guests using a wheelchair or with other mobility requirements should contact Tonic Mama before booking so that suitable arrangements can be discussed.
Tonic Mama cannot guarantee that every individual accessibility requirement can be accommodated.
10. Minors
Any guest under the age of 18 is considered a minor for the purposes of these Terms & Conditions.
Teenagers aged 13 to 17
Teenagers aged 13 to 17 may participate in cooking classes at the standard participation fee.
They must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless otherwise expressly agreed in advance with Tonic Mama.
The accompanying parent or legal guardian remains responsible for the minor's conduct and compliance with safety instructions.
Children under 13
Children under the age of 13 may accompany a parent or legal guardian but do not participate in the class unless otherwise expressly agreed in advance with Tonic Mama.
The presence of children under 13 must be communicated to Tonic Mama in advance.
Children must remain under the continuous supervision and responsibility of their parent or legal guardian at all times.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children:
- remain at a safe distance from knives, hot surfaces, appliances and other kitchen hazards;
- do not interfere with the preparation of food or use equipment unless specifically authorised;
- do not disrupt the class or other participants; and
- follow any reasonable instructions given by Tonic Mama relating to safety or the proper conduct of the class.
If a child disrupts the class or creates a safety concern, Tonic Mama may ask the parent or guardian to remove the child from the cooking area or, where necessary, leave the class.
Where a guest is unable to continue participating because they need to supervise or remove their child, this does not entitle them to a refund, rescheduling or extension of the class, except where required by applicable law.
11. Photos, Videos, Recipes & Materials
Photographs and Videos Taken by Guests
Guests are welcome to take photographs and videos for personal, non-commercial use, provided that doing so does not interfere with the class, compromise safety or unreasonably affect the privacy of other participants.
Guests should not deliberately photograph or record another participant without that person's permission.
Particular care must be taken when minors are present.
Guests must not deliberately photograph or record a minor other than their own child without the permission of the minor's parent or legal guardian and, where appropriate considering the minor's age and maturity, the minor themselves.
Tonic Mama may ask a guest to stop photographing or recording at any time where this is reasonably necessary to protect privacy, safety or the enjoyment of other participants.
Photographs and Videos Taken by Tonic Mama
Tonic Mama may occasionally take photographs or videos during cooking classes.
Tonic Mama will not use identifiable photographs or videos of adult guests for advertising, social media, website content or other marketing purposes without appropriate prior permission.
Permission for marketing use of photographs or videos is separate from acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Refusing such permission does not affect your ability to participate in the class.
Photographs and Videos of Minors
Tonic Mama applies additional safeguards to photographs and videos in which minors can be identified.
Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions does not constitute consent for Tonic Mama to publish or use identifiable photographs or videos of a minor for marketing purposes.
For a minor under the age of 14, Tonic Mama will obtain separate permission from the parent or legal guardian before using an identifiable photograph or video of the minor for advertising, social media, website content or other marketing purposes.
For a minor aged 14 to 17, Tonic Mama will require separate permission from both the minor and their parent or legal guardian before using identifiable photographs or videos for such purposes.
Photo or video permission is voluntary and may be withdrawn in accordance with applicable data-protection law. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Where consent is withdrawn, Tonic Mama will discontinue future use of the relevant identifiable material and will take reasonable steps regarding material under its direct control, subject to applicable law and technical limitations.
Recipes and Materials
Recipes, recipe booklets and other materials provided by Tonic Mama are intended for personal use only.
They may not be sold, commercially reproduced, published, distributed or used as part of another commercial cooking class or commercial service without prior permission from Tonic Mama.
12. Changes to the Menu or Class
Small changes to recipes, ingredients, timing, instructors or the sequence of activities may occasionally be necessary due to ingredient availability, seasonality, dietary requirements, illness or operational circumstances.
Such changes will not entitle the guest to a refund or cancellation provided that they do not materially alter the overall nature of the booked cooking experience, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
13. Personal Data
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Tonic Mama Privacy Policy, available on tonicmama.com.
Information concerning allergies, intolerances, medical conditions or other dietary or health requirements may constitute health-related personal data.
Such information will be processed only where legally permitted and for purposes connected with safely organising and conducting the cooking class.
Where consent is legally required for a particular processing activity, Tonic Mama will obtain that consent separately as required by applicable data-protection law.
14. Applicable Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Austrian law.
Any mandatory consumer-protection rights applicable to the guest remain unaffected.
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions to the extent permitted by applicable law.
